My mom is a missionary in Nicaragua, so there is no opportunity for flowers, cards, or breakfast in bed. So, here is my shot at telling her how much I love her this Mother's Day.
Thank you first for the gift of life.
For teaching me to focus hard on the task at hand.
For teaching me to love.
For giving me a great sense of style from a very early age. *ahem*
For caring for me enough to bundle me up and then take it all off because there was immediately a rush for bathroom time and then bundling me up again, so I could go outside and play for five minutes before coming back in for your famous hot chocolate.
Thank you for teaching me joy and joy unspeakable.
Thanks for showing me how to nurture, and sticking with me until I got it.
Thank you for giving me a safe place to land and for letting me lean on you.
Thank you for teaching me to share, even if this picture makes me gag now!
And thank you Grammie, for doing and being all of those things to her.
How are you celebrating the women in your life who have raised you up?
